Lima Kay was located in a shed at Guildford, NSW, and was owned by the Randall family of Manilla but hadn't steamed for 18 years. The family loaned her to the Tamworth and District Model Engineers to refurbish the tender and engine for use by the club. Lima Kay successfully attained a boiler certificate, enabling her to run at public running days at the Botanic Gardens track. While many members have been running steamers over the years since the track opened in 2008, she is the first steamer to be operated and run on the track by the Club. It is intended to operate Lima Kay as a special feature of the annual inter-club running weekends held in the middle of June each year.
