TDME is responsible for building and managing this facility, situated in the scenic hills of East Tamworth, in Victoria Park, adjacent to the Tamworth Regional Botanical Gardens at the top end of Piper Street, Tamworth. Click on LINK for map and detailed directions.

We have two 600 metre dual-gauge (5 inch and 7¼ inch) tracks in concentric circuits with a 4 platform station and ticket office, 10 metre tunnel, fully serviced steaming bays, loading traverser, and rolling stock storage. The additional 400 metre Oxley loop is now operational and features an 18 metre Bailey bridge, a second tunnel, and spectacular views back to the airport.

A secure workshop, loco store, signal box, and Club rooms have been constructed and are currently being fitted out.

Earthworks have commenced for the construction of a new ‘Picnic Pavilion’ to be located adjacent to the Victoria Park station with an expected completion date of end of April 2014.

TDME gratefully acknowledges the significant assistance from Tamworth Regional Council, NSW State Government, major sponsors Job-Link Plus and Tamex Transport, the Tamworth business community, and the community at large.
